Singer, songwriter, and dancer – Olisha Naicker is a star on the rise. She has just released her debut single – ‘I Need You’
This Durban-born singer always knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in music. She says: “My parents are huge fans of music so they would always play music when I was growing up and I instantly gravitated to it.” This multi-talented performer also taught herself how to dance. “I’m a huge fan of Michael Jackson and The Backstreet Boys so when I’d get home from school I’d study their dance moves in their videos, go to the mirror, try them, rewind the video, go back to the mirror and try again until I got it. That’s how I learnt to dance.”
One of Olisha’s favourite activities is songwriting. She explains: “Life situations inspire me to write songs. I love the fact that songwriting has the potential to evoke all kinds of emotion from a person, and at times it is very therapeutic.”
As a singer, songwriter and dancer, Olisha is determined to make a name for herself in the pop music industry. She has just released her self-penned first single ‘I Need You’ and is in the midst of completing production of her debut album which is set for release in early 2016. She has already gained thousands of fans on Facebook and is excited to share her music with all her fans.
She adds: “I have a laser-like focus when it comes to anything I do. If I set out to accomplish something.
